Test day

We're in our last week of Fall term here before finals and so far it's been an intensive ten weeks of six-hour days learning botany, propagation, plant ID, irrigation and hand tools.  There will be three more terms and, next October, a try for the Certification of Professional Horticulture.

Abies procera:  pectinate needle pattern and a hockey stick attachment on the underside are two of its key identifying characteristics.

Abies Grandis:  the smell is intoxicating and filling the room.

What would you rather have?  A snake tongue or a lobster claw hand? Several students are discussing the pros and cons as the rest of us eat lunch, chat, text and snooze...it's break time for budding horticulturists in the classroom.
